Terms of Service.

1. The service

VoltaMail is an email hosting service operated by VoltaServices in the United Kingdom. It provides IMAP and SMTP mailboxes, webmail at mail.voltamail.uk, and the features described elsewhere on this site. VoltaMail is currently in beta.

During beta the service is provided free of charge and without any uptime guarantee. We run it on the same infrastructure we intend to charge for later, but we may take it offline for maintenance, testing, or migration with little or no notice. Do not rely on a beta mailbox as your only copy of important mail.

2. Acceptable use

You agree to use VoltaMail lawfully and considerately. In particular, you must not use your mailbox to:

• send unsolicited bulk email, marketing blasts, or any other form of spam;
• store, send, or distribute unlawful content, or content that infringes someone else's rights;
• harass, threaten, defraud, or impersonate any person or organisation;
• attempt to break, probe, or overload the service or the systems of the people you email.

Deliverability is shared. If one mailbox sends spam, the reputation of the whole domain suffers and everyone's mail is more likely to land in a junk folder. So accounts that send spam will be suspended, usually without warning. This protects deliverability for everyone on the service.

Reporting abuse

If you receive abusive mail from a VoltaMail address, or believe an account is being misused, tell us through the contact page. We investigate reports and act on the ones we can verify.

3. Your account

You are responsible for keeping your password safe and for everything that happens on your account. Choose a strong, unique password, turn on two-factor authentication where it is offered, and do not share your credentials. If you think your account has been accessed by someone else, change your password and contact us straight away.

You must give accurate information when you create a mailbox, and you must be old enough under the law of your country to enter into these terms.

4. Availability and changes

Because VoltaMail is in beta, the service and these terms may change. We may add, remove, or alter features, adjust storage limits, or introduce paid plans as the service matures. Where a change is material — for example, the introduction of charges, or a change that meaningfully reduces what you get — we will give reasonable notice by email or through the service before it takes effect.

Continuing to use VoltaMail after a change takes effect means you accept the updated terms. If you do not accept them, you should close your account.

5. Termination

You may close your mailbox at any time from your account settings or by contacting us. When you do, we delete your mailbox and its contents in line with our privacy policy.

We may suspend or close an account that breaches these terms, that puts the service or other users at risk, or where we are required to by law. Where circumstances allow, we will explain why and give you a chance to put things right. We may also discontinue the beta as a whole, in which case we will give notice and a reasonable window to export your mail.

6. Liability

VoltaMail is provided "as is" during beta, without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not promise that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that mail will always be delivered.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, our liability to you in connection with the beta service is limited. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded — including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud. Nothing here affects your statutory rights as a consumer.

7. Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and any dispute relating to them or to VoltaMail is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
