Email that answers to you.

VoltaMail is the email property of VoltaServices, the same small British outfit that runs VoltaAI. One team, a handful of services, all built and operated in the United Kingdom.

A quiet British terraced street in early morning mist.

We run our own mail infrastructure rather than reselling somebody else's. The servers are ours, the domains are ours, and the mail stack that moves your mail is one we operate and can answer for. When you write to support, you reach the people who keep it running, not a queue in front of a platform we rent by the seat.

Private here means what it says. There are no ads in your inbox and nothing to target them with. We do not scan the contents of your mail to build a profile, train a model, or sell to anyone. The logs we keep hold delivery metadata (sender, size, timestamp, SMTP status) because that is what it takes to move a message and fix it when it fails. The body of your mail is yours, encrypted at rest, and we treat it that way.

We build on standards rather than lock-in. Your mailbox speaks plain IMAP over port 993, SMTP submission over 587 with STARTTLS, and JMAP for clients that prefer it: the same protocols every serious mail client already understands. Bring your own domain, set your own DNS, and take your archive with you the day you decide to leave. A service you can walk away from is a service that has to keep earning the stay.

Principles

Our own infrastructure

UK-operated servers we run and answer for, not a reseller badge on a hyperscaler.

No ads, no scanning

We never read your mail to profile you or train on it. There is nothing to sell, so we don't.

Open standards

IMAP, SMTP and JMAP throughout. Use any client, bring any domain, keep the wire protocol boring.

No lock-in

Export your mail and leave whenever you like. Staying should be a choice, not a trap.
